My interest in body based disciplines evolved from training in Madame Borovansky's Russian Method of Ballet, which I practised for over 10 years. It was my little girl dream to do ballet forever, to be up en pointe (in point shoes). As I became a teenager however, my academic performance became a greater concern & my numerous out of school activities needed to be re-prioritized. Ballet did give me a great gift though, one of discipline.

My curiousity about how the body works in space eventually led to explorations following along a more yogic path. I discovered the importance of physical alignment from Iyengar, how a practice may be altered with the seasons from Japanese Ki, about the key link between movement & breath from Astanga (Amanda Stead & Eoin Mc Carthy, Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Melbourne), an introduction to the seminal Yoga texts from the Australian College of Classical Yoga (Swami Shantananda), sequencing for western bodies from Knoff Yoga (Nicky Knoff), how to work sustainably with a living body (amongst many other things!) from Yoga Synergy (Simon Borg-Olivier & Bianca Machliss), moving from my centre from Calligraphy Yoga (Master Yang Zhen Hua), & embodied movement from Body Mind Centering (Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen & Alice Cummins).

It is from this vast wealth of teaching knowledge that I draw inspiration, as well as my own years of practice (I started practising in 1997), they are united by a sense of play & exploration. Into each class or session I bring movement healing experience, old & new.
